Tassel Drama

Boho being your comfort zone or not, you can't get away from tassels at the moment. It's awesome when vintage and I've always loved it, but now its here in abundance thanks to the S/S15 shows and muses like Kate Moss. You'll find it in all major high street stores. Believe me, I feel tassels should always be worn with a desert wanderer vibe, complete with a nostalgic 70s romance, but it can also be done in a redefined maybe a bit more premium way. And, that is really how we are currently seeing it as a trend - welcome 'Boho Luxe' (Not that I am particularly making a bee line for it, like I said - I like my boho true to form). Take brands like The Reformation for example. They put a boho spin on a clean silhouette, to clothes with a  less second hand feel (and a less second hand price tag).

Above, I've bought a nice bit of heavy weight suede and kept it pretty simple. A fringe or tassel waistcoat like mine, make good investment pieces as you'll be frolicking and rolling around in it all year, so you'll never begrudge spending a bit of money on it. I've tried out a wide leg trouser. I have moved away from flares to give these a go, and to be fair I really like them. Of course I've made sure they still reach the floor even with a heel on, because we don't do ankle swingers where I'm from.

Festival Style with Orelia.

Festival style is my Christmas really. Its the season I wait for all year round, and when it comes I want to immerse myself fully into it. It's your opportunity to fall down the rabbit hole, play dress up and pile it on. 'Less is more' doesn't exist. The comfort I find with festival wear is that you do tend to start with a simple outfit. Take above for an example. Good old, distressed denim shorts paired with my all time favourite tassel crochet bralet top. Easy! You then build it up and that's when things can get really interesting. Anklets, arm cuffs, body chains, toe rings, hand harnesses, chokers, flower crowns, not to mention all these metallic temporary tattoos that you can get your hands on so easily now. I was never really too bothered with the temporary tattoos as am quite heavily covered with the real thing, but I had to give in to them in the end. They're super bold and are just another interesting way of accessorising. Orelia's range of temporary tattoos are great quality and really stay put! Be fun and take a walk on the wild side x

I've teamed with the lovely team over at Orelia Jewellery and chosen all their pieces that are festival ready - you can shop all the items that I am wearing above - head over to their site to see all.

Orange is the New Black.

Summer really is here now (It's June 1st and we do have the heating on) so it's time for me to bring out some colour. Orange is a good colour to me, it treats me pretty well. I am not really one for bright colours, especially more then one at a time but I will always make the exception for a flame orange. It stems from my love and natural attraction to warm, earthy tones. This just happens to be the brightest and fiery shade in my colour palette. Topshop have done right by me with this romantic love affair in a form of a blouse. Boho-babyness all summer long.  It's lace up neckline, alluring loose fit and swooping sleeves lend itself beautifully to be worn with tougher denim, giving it harder edge. I love outfits like these - simply built and easy on the eye yet pretty fierce!

I've gone for a new style with my jeans, these are the newer style 'Binx' at Topshop. I know these were brought out last year, in a very small quantity but now they're back properly and have come out in lots of different washes. They are like a chic, revised 'Mom' jean - super high waisted with a retro straight cut that skims over the leg. I love that cropped ankle length. It's the beachy and frayed raw edge that got me. I love subtle rugged undertones. I found that my taupe Steve Madden espadrilles went down a treat here!
