Party On! Etsy UK Christmas Dinner.

Twas a month before Christmas, but the prep and the party outfit started early. This year I feel particularly in the mood, maybe because I am away from working directly in retail, so can actually enjoy the build up. It could also be because I am working around some gorgeous vintage party dresses right now - it's a very tempting place to be. But it was when I received my invitation to the Etsy UK Christmas Dinner, it felt like Christmas had truly arrived. It's a non- formal, get all dressed up event, and this year held at The Riding House Cafe. I got straight into thinking about the perfect party outfit. Like I have said in my previous post 'Fluffy Flamingo' I always want my glam looks to still have a very rough and ready look. So with that in mind and it being Christmas obviously, I had a lot to think about.

I came across this moody little number, whilst going through the rails at Peekaboo HQ. It struck me straight away as something that I would love to try on. I loved it's loose fit, and thought its jagged hem line and cuffs were really beautiful. Its a vintage 1980s, but I feel like its quite a timeless piece that could translate well into my more contemporary retro style. A dark Christmas fairy dress - with a devious midnight feel to it. It's nights sky coloured beads and sequins glimmer and twinkled in the light, so really perfect for a Christmas party! I couldn't wait to pair it with my over the knee faux suede boots, as that's my way of toughening the look up a bit. Of course every winter party outfit needs an equally glamorous coat. I kept with the moody colour palate and choose this GORGEOUS OH MY its BEAUTIFUL dark navy/teal vintage sheepskin coat. I fell in love with it instantly. I have seen many sheepskins in my time, but never one as unique, majestic and as stunning as this one. Mongolian fur around the collar really sets this one apart, a true beauty. As the Etsy Christmas Dinner was during the day, I needed to tone this outfit down a little, so I wore my newsboy corduroy hat. I can always rely on this baby to give my outfit a little cheeky retro spin. And Ta- Dah! I was all ready to go the ball. Shop some of my looks below! Eliza x
